Pair of Vintage French Carved and Painted Trumeaux Mirrors from Normandy
About the Item
Decorate a living room, or a master bathroom with this elegant pair of colorful trumeaux mirrors. Crafted in Normandy, France, each trumeau is dressed at the pediment with a thick crown decorated with geometric motifs. Each wall piece features hand carved musical instruments in high relief to mimic classical Roman architecture; it includes a large central violin, with acorn and foliage, and the Classic Louis XVI ribbon bow at the top. Both vintage trumeaux are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich textured and patinated painted finish in the white and beige palette, with wonderful antique distress. Versatile, they could be placed in a hallway over a pair of consoles tables, or in an entry on either side of a front door.
