A very rare wicker Trumeau Mirror, American C. 1900 with exquisite workmanship in the details of the hand woven wicker frame, beautiful oil painting and beveled glass mirror.The incredible workmanship of this rare item includes such details as the frame itself having a carved and gilded wooden rope design through out with wicker rosettes on either side of the painting as well as a beautiful top wicker pediment having a woven crown design and three sections of open lattice work all in a beautiful natural finish.
The spectacular oil on canvas is of a still life floral arrangement spilling over a classical style urn. The soft hues of the flowers contrast amazingly with the strong depth of colors in the background with all this displayed above a beautiful beveled glass mirror. A truly one of a kind piece.

A matched pair of Antique Art Deco Style Wicker Lounge Chairs, American, C. 1920s. These chairs were the height of fashion in the 1920s. Painted reed furniture was all the rage for a short period with their dramatic design shapes and colorful patterns. Heywood Wakefield, whom I attribute this pair of chairs to and several other companies offered extensive lines of this furniture which were being influenced by the the French Art Deco style popular during this period.This style furniture was last seen in the 1929 Heywood Wakefield catalogues as the depression, change in styles and prohibitive cost of hand weaving etc put an end to this great era.
