About the Item
A monumental palatial Italian 19th century neo-classical st. giltwood mirror. The impressive original mirror plate with a decorative giltwood fillet and rosettes, is set within an extremely elegant straight giltwood frame. At each side of the frame are impressive architectural columns with a mottled plinth. All decorated with richly carved neo-calssical motifs of palmettes, urn and acanthus leaves in a satin and burnished finish running along the sides. The spectacular mottled top crown has two large star reserves at each side with Les Ovals and Coeur de Rai designs, above foliate carvings, centered by a male satyr mask. All original gilt. Please note our model is six feet tall.
