About the Item

"Adrien Audoux and Frida Minnet were a French duo who worked together in the mid-20th century. They are known for their innovative use of natural materials, including rope, wicker and bamboo, in their furniture designs. Their work was strongly influenced by the modernist movement, which sought to create functional, streamlined designs accessible to a wider public. They became known for their use of sustainable materials, such as rope, which they wove into chairs, sofas and other furniture pieces. Their work was also characterized by a strong sense of craftsmanship, with each piece handcrafted by the designers themselves or by skilled artisans. Despite the popularity of their designs, Audoux and Minnet remained relatively unknown outside France until the 1950s, when their work began to be shown at international exhibitions."
