Antique Chinese Export Silver Christening Mug

About the Item

A very good and impressive antique Chinese Export Silver christening mug; an addition to our diverse silver christening collection. This fine antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) christening mug has a plain cylindrical bulbous form onto a circular spreading collet foot. The cylindrical upper portion of the body is plain and unembellished, with a flared rim. The lower bulbous portion of the body is ornamented with impressive embossed fluted and batwing ornamentation in a swirl design. This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with a silver bamboo stem effect handle. The hallmarks to the underside of this solid silver mug include: Maker's mark: WH (Wang Hing & Company) Silver quality/purity mark: 90 (90 standard, 900/1000) Character maker: Untraced Condition This antique Chinese silver christening mug is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and is in very good condition. The Chinese hallmarks struck to the underside are all very clear.
