About the Item

Benatti, 'Boomerang' queen bed, wood, lacquered wood, leather, Italy, design 1972 Rare and monumental Italian double bed made in the 1970s. This 'Boomerang' bed made by manufacturer Benatti and shows all characteristics of design in the post-modern era of furniture design. Sculptural, soft, and beautiful: this bed is so easy to love and relate to. The the sides of the bed are made in strongly curved lacquered wood. The immense head and foot board are made in a dark burgundy leather, and show a beautiful and thick round cushion, that has stitching creating a bolster shaped bedstead. The slatted base for the matras is placed a little lower between the curved sides and voluminous leather head and footboard, creating an optically pleasing floating appearance and also a very cosy space to sleep. Comfort and beauty come together in this spectacular design. Dimensions mattress: 170 x 195 cm. 66.9 x 76.8 in. Benatti Pair of 'Aiace' Nightstands in Lacquered Wood Benatti, nightstands model 'Aiace', lacquered wood, Italy, 1960s Playful and stylish curved pair of nightstands, created by Italian manufacturer Benatti in the 1960s. The striking cabinet is kidney-shaped and finished in high gloss black lacquer. These eye-catching bedside pieces feature two curved doors. The manufacturer, known for its functional and high quality pieces of furniture captured the innovative Pop Art spirit in furniture design of the 1960s. Dimensions nightstands: Height 44 cm Width 59.5 cm Depth 38 cm. Please note that these items are in good, used condition. The lacquer on the bed and nightstands needs restoring. For the leather we advise reupholstery. This item might contain some threadbare upholstery with loose seams and small stains. Reupholstery and restoration can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier.
