Circa 1800 American Federal Hardwood Four Poster Bed Frame with Carved Pillars

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare original circa 1800 American Federal Mahogany four post bed with heavily carved and fluted columns. These beds are about as rare and collectable as they come on the American market, the frame is all original, it has beautifully carved and fluted columns which wouldn't look out of place in a grand palace The woodwork has been cleaned waxed and polished, it will have the original patina and so on throughout, we have not refinished it specifically to keep the period patina. Please note this sale only includes what's pictured, there's no mattress or divan base as the new owners usually want to buy their own new. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
