These beds are about as rare and collectable as they come, it is 100% original, all hand sawn, the back panel alone is worth a small fortune as is the roof which was very hard to picture due to the angle The woodwork has been cleaned waxed and polished, it will have the original patina and so on throughout, we have not refinished it specifically to keep the period patina Please note this sale only includes what's pictured, there's no mattress as the new owners usually want to buy their own new The bed will be shipped fully dismantled as you can see in the last picture, it takes two people around 10 minutes to build it, its not complicated These types of beds were made with very privative bolts, the fixing points over the years develop a lot of character, the two base posts are secured with a large wooden spigot at the bottom and a small metal pin and that top, as such they rotate and move but are of course secure. If you plan to use this bed I recommend having some split washers fitted and threads tapped so you can compress them down, its not essential but it will make the posts sit straighter and in one place Dimensions Height:- 190cm, 44.5cm side rails Depth:- 145.5cm Length:- 212cm Inside Dimensions Depth:- 137cm Length:- 198cm headboard to the footboard, 191cm headboard to the side posts Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

A good early original piece, hand carved, very naïve by today's standards but at the time this would have been considered very ornate. Condition wise for the period is sublime, this chair is so tactile, and the patina is to die for, think how many hundreds and maybe thousands of people have used this chair, how many centuries of love and use it took to get looking like this. It is the best part of 380+ years old from new Dimensions: Height 103.5cm seat height 41cm Width 59.5cm Depth 54cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point.  ABOUT US Royal House Antiques is a privately owned family ran business founded in Wimbledon SW19 and now based in Pulborough RH20.
