Michael Elkan Burled Maple and Walnut King Headboard

About
Michael Elkan (1942-2014) monumental maple headboard with walnut butterflies and walnut frame. Top edge is freeform, and two sides are cut from the same tree and book matched. His larger designed pieces are much harder to come across and this is an outstanding example of his craft! Commissioned in the late 1980s from a meeting at the Baltimore craft fair and in the original owners possession until now!
