Founders Furniture Company
Founders Furniture Company was a short-lived 20th-century American brand that produced enduring mid-century modern designs. The company's streamlined dressers, lounge chairs and coffee tables feature solid wood construction and simple but elegant designs.
The history of Founders Furniture Company began in 1946 when it was established as a subsidiary of Knoll Inc., an esteemed manufacturer known mainly at the time for its pioneering workplace furniture — largely owing to the work of visionary designer Florence Knoll — so it launched Founders as its residential division.
During its years of operation, Founders hired celebrated American modernist designers like Milo Baughman and David Parmelee, who created sleek commodes and sideboards in mahogany and rosewood for the brand. Michigan native Jack Cartwright, a designer at Heritage during the 1950s, also worked at Founders as head designer before moving on to start his eponymous furniture company in 1963.
Founders continued operations until 1965 when Thomasville Furniture acquired it. Established in 1904 in North Carolina — home to other iconic mid-century brands such as Drexel and Broyhill — Thomasville expanded significantly during the 1960s and purchased several other American furniture manufacturers.
Today, the timeless styles and exceptional craftsmanship associated with Founders Furniture Company pieces continue to render them desirable even for today’s interiors.

- Pair of Post Modern White and Gun Metal Gray Chrome Nightstands by LaneBy Raymond Loewy, Lane FurnitureLocated in Chattanooga, TNSleek pair of vintage 1980s Post Modern white nightstands by Lane. Stylish and hearty construction, hallmarks of Lane. These nightstands have white enamel painted wood cases and white laminate (Formica) top surfaces. As you can see, there is a slight patina to the white enamel paint. The body of the nightstands appears a slightly warmer ivory color while the laminate tops are pure white. This subtle patina is due to age. The Nineteen-Laties nightstands exhibit elements of Neo Deco...Category

$1,996 Sale Price / set20% Off - Raymond Loewy Inspired Green Chapter One Nightstand by Broyhill PremierBy Broyhill, Raymond LoewyLocated in Chattanooga, TNWell it’s 2023, and Broyhill’s Chapter One Collection is officially harder to find and more sought after than the Raymond Loewy orginals. With all due respect to Raymond Loewy, there really is something magical about the Chapter One line. Maybe they’re just more fun and approachable. Maybe it’s the proportions and practicality. Regardless, they’re one of our favourite collections of all time. The restoration team pulled no punches on this nightstand, and the end result exceeded our expectations. Every inch of the wood body and base was professionally sanded, primed and painted to match the original bright white. The laminate top and dark lime green molded plastic drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. It’s tough to see these go, but we know it will be loved. Broyhill’s Chapter one collection borrowed from the plastic mold injection designs made famous by legendary designer Raymond Loewy. Like Loewy, this Chapter One Green Nightstand...Category
