Louis XVI Side Table by Parisian Cabinet Maker Soubrier with Marble Top
About the Item
A fine Louis XVI style bedside table by renowned Parisian cabinet maker Soubrier, in burr wood veneer with an inlaid decoration of flowers and simulated grooves. This impressive cabinet is topped with a stunning grey and white marbled granite top with dramatic veining, above a single frieze drawer. Below the drawer is an enclosed white porcelain-lined interior compartment with hinged door, which is cleverly disguised as two slim drawers, complete with gilt brass ring pull handles. The two front corner posts are flanked by ornate and finely chiselled gilt bronze ormolu mounts. Four elegantly tapering legs complete the design.
