Aeronautical III Gauge Clock

About the Item

During the Great War, from 1914-18, a new kind of art flourished. Hand crafted creations from gifted soldiers and army personnel became known as trench art. They used whatever material was at hand…bullet shells, wood, and fabric, during an era when planes were built from fabric on a frame. Popular fabrications included lighters and clocks made in all shapes and sizes. Our Industrial Style Aviator Clock was designed by an airplane engineer at a time .A base with an art-deco feel sets off a truly charming clock with a sense of history. Left speed speedometer and middle altimeter display show analog clock with hour and minute hands. The airplane compass on the right is connected to the second hand and rotates continuously at one revolution per minute. Each indicator consists of a separate clock. Each hour is powered by a 1.5 V pen battery.
