About the Item

Impressive large wooden display - Scale model of a BEA Plane - Aeroplane - Airplane - Modelplane. This British European Airways ( B.E.A. ) full wooden Model Plane - Promotional Display is on a wooden Base and dates from the 1950s. This large scale model has traces of age and use on the paint, and some old repairs, so do view all the pics well, but is an eye-catching object because of his size. Wingspan: 46.45 inch - 118 cm Scale Aeroplane Collectables - BEA Collectables - Old Plane displays - Vintage Promotional Airplane Models - Office Decoration Before the BEA, you had the 'BOAC' or the British Overseas Airways Corporation, established in 1939. Until the end of the 1950s, they transport people and marchandise from and to the British Colonien. During the WW2, because of the attacks from the Germans on Holland in the 1940s, Holland send five of their Aeroplanes together with the KLM Crew to the United Kingdom. The BOAC pit in this planes until the end of WW2, to used them for the infamous Flight path from Bristol to Lissabon. After the Ware, the remain Planes and Crew came back to Holland. In 1946, the Company spliced in three seperate enterprises : BOAC - for Fleights to the British Kolonien, Nord-America and the Middle East. British European Airways (BEA) - for fleights to Europe and Domestic fleights. British South American Airways (BSAA) - for fleights to South-America and the Carabien. On March 1974 the BOAC aswell as the BEA stopped. Their activities where put together in the current British Airways. So, this historical type of Plane is a must have for any Aviation Collector stunning Decoration Piece in Office, Home, Mancave - Interior Eyecatcher!!
