Athens: The University of Georgia Press. 1st edition hardcover with dust jacket, 1972. 187 pp. A survey of the unique architectural heritage of the Oconee region of middle Georgia written by John Linley, the associate professor of architecture at the University of Georgia. The book is illustrated with over three hundred photographs and floor plans. From 1807 to 1869 Milledgeville was the capital of Georgia. The surrounding counties of the Econee region hold many superb examples of antebellum architecture. The book shows detailed examples of indigenous types from the late eighteenth century to early nineteenth centuries,
