Dumfries House - Sale Catalogue July 2007

This 2 volume sale catalogue was prepared by Christie's to dispose of Dumfries House and its magnificent contents, a large portion of which was important furniture by Thomas Chippendale. The sale was halted at the last moment as a charitable trust set up by Prince Charles bought it for the nation. This catalogue therefore could be said to have been for "The sale that never was", it is however an important record of the most amazing collection of historic furniture. In excellent condition and still with presentation slip case.
