Le Ville Del Brenta da Lizza Fusina alla città di Padova (The Brenta Villas from Lizza Fusina to the city of Padova) by Clauco B. Tiozzo. Venice: Cavallino, 1977. First edition hardcover with dust jacket. 458 pp with fold-out map. A beautiful Italian coffee table book on the famous villas along the Brenda Canal near Venice. In the 15th c Italian nobility built spectacular summer residences to escape stuffy Venice. The nobility of the time loved to entertain and compete with there neighbors so they commissioned the best architects and decorators. Some of the villas included are Palladio's villa Foscari alla Malcontenta, La Malcontenta, villa Foscari and many others.
