Timothy Leary–The Psychedelic Experience, First UK Edition, 1971

First UK edition, hardcover, published by Academy Editions, 1971 The Psychedelic Experience is a manual, based on the ancient ‘Tibetan Book of the Dead,’ compiled by Dr. Leary and his colleagues Ralph Metzner and Richard Alpert following their experiments at Harvard University. These experiments studied the mind-expanding properties of certain drugs, many of which were fuelling the 1960s youth culture obsession for the psychedelic, through music and art. This book is a contemporary translation of the Tibetan Book of the Dead, with commentaries and new interpretations of its mystical meanings.
