William Spratling Vintage Petate Bracelet

About

Iconic vintage William Spratling silver bracelet. As with the Petate Pin, the design for this bracelet was inspired by the handmade traditional Mexican rugs woven from palm reeds called "Petates". Linked bold repousse medallions with hand-smithed sides. Marked "Spratling Made in Mexico", "Sterling". This bracelet first appeared in Spratling's 1942 wholesale catalogoue and not again until the December 1945 catalogue. Pictured in "Mexican Silver" by Morrill and Berk, page 50, and on www.spratlingsilver.com
