About the Item

A fine example of a Queen Anne letters patent on vellum with a partial Great Seal and beautifully detailed portrait of the Queen. This document dates to the late 17th or early 18th century and is in very good overall condition, with some warpage, light fade, and other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. Mounted under glass in a shadowbox molded giltwood frame. Dimensions: Document 24 in H x 28 in W, actual; Great Seal: 4.25 in diameter: Overall: 40 in H x 34.5 in W x 2 in D, framed. Ref: 13380

Four 18th Century Vellum Covered Latin Books

Located in Hudson, NY

These four books printed in Latin are covered in beautiful old vellum covers and spines. Each book contains text, margin commentary and pictorial illustration to the fronts pages. All but one is from the same library with like beautifully embossed bindings and like blue colored paper borders. These three had at one point clasp binders now gone or in a damaged state. The final book is vellum bound but not in embossed covers and spines.
