1930s Moorman Farm Feeds Cast Iron Anatomical Pig Salesman Sample Figure
About the Item
This rare cast iron pig was produced by the Moorman Manufacturing Company of Quincy, Illinois, as a traveling salesman’s sample in the 1930s. Designed to open on a central hinge, the interior reveals a painted anatomical layout of the animal’s organs and skeletal structure. These were used in the field to illustrate Moorman’s feed benefits to farmers and livestock dealers. Still retaining its worn, original mustard-toned paint and carrying handle, it’s a striking piece of agricultural advertising and early 20th-century veterinary education.
