Moroccan Mother Of Pearl Inlaid Hexagonal, Miniature Model, 19th Century
About the Item
Miniature mother of pearl inlaid mosaic model of a hexagonal table, Morocco late 19th century. This sweet little table is beautifully inlaid with mother of pearl in various hues of iridescent colors. Made as a furniture makers model, or perhaps just as a folly, or as a way to show off their talents.
The top inlaid with a six point star in a field of star bursts and geometric forms. The sides with lovely arabesques above column form legs, even the underside of the table top is inlaid.
A lovely piece that serves no other purpose but to please the eye and senses. Placed on a shelf. etagere or mantle, this will surely be a conversation starter.
