Rare pocket watch stand, miniature armchair, antler boar thooth, 1900, Tramp Art

About the Item

Very nice and rare example of a pocket watch stand, in form of a miniature armchair, made around 1900-1910 in Austria or South Germany / Black Forest. This miniature furniture is exquisitely handcrafted. The seat and backrest are made of deer horn. The 3-legged stand is made of tips of the same material. The armrests are special - made of wild boar teeth. The seat is concave because this is where the watch chain is placed. The contact surface on the backrest is lined with green velvet, which is probably the original cover. The materials used and the partially stained areas result in an exciting surface structure. Measurements approx.: height 4,33 in - 11 cm, width 4,92 in - 12,5 cm, depth 4,33 in - 11 cm A wonderful historical piece that only very rarely comes onto the market because there are passionate collectors for it. You can also use it for jewelry. The pocket watch shown is for illustration only and is not part of this lot.
