From Japan, a very nice and unusual 19th century attached collection of five graduated small to medium scale bronze temple meditation bells engraved/ inlaid with "bird and floral" decorations. This is a handcrafted group attached to the original old cord for suspension and is accompanied with a hardwood striker. Fine original and attractive patina make this collection a deserving consideration. Dimensions: Complete five bell set on original cord, 42" in length. Largest bell 8" diameter; Smallest bell 3.5" diameter. Provenance: The bells come from an old Cape Cod collection.
