About the Item

SK4/1 record player by Dieter Rams and Hans Gugelot for Braun, 1950s Germany. In the mid-20th century, the world of domestic audio equipment witnessed a revolutionary transformation with the introduction of the Braun SK Series Radiogramophones. It wasn’t just an audio device, it was a piece of sound furniture. The introduction of the transparent acrylic lid was a game-changer. It not only allowed the intricate details of the device to be displayed but also introduced a touch of whimsy, earning it the nickname “Snow White’s Coffin”. The SK 4/1 was designed in 1957 and an improvement on the first edition SK 4 from 1956. The white metal casing is refinished. Rest is in good working original condition. – Height: 24,5 cm – Width: 58,5 cm – Depth: 29 cm
