Italian Solid 800 Silver Statue depicting the Virgin Mary and Child blessing

About the Item

Hanging statue depicting the Madonna and Child blessing, seated on the throne. It was made with the sand/earth casting technique, finely chiseled and subsequently burnished and treated with antioxidant paint. Sand/earth casting consists of pouring the molten metal into a mold made of a special earth, called foundry earth, which will be broken at the end of the process to be able to extract the piece Foundry earth an earth that is used in the foundry for the preparation of transitional shapes, i.e. containers into which the molten metal is poured for the production of castings. Made completely by hand in Milan - Italy at the end of the 70s in the artisan workshop of the silversmith Mario Vallè for ARVAL ARGENTI VALENZA.
