About the Item

Rare and elegant 19th-century celestial globe signed: "Dédié à M. A. Bouvard... / par Ch. Dien." Created by Charles Dien, a noted French globe maker, this piece features beautifully printed constellations and celestial data, presented on a 30 cm (11.8 in) diameter sphere, mounted on a bronze armillary structure with a wooden base. The globe shows minor historical restorations, visible in the photos, but remains in very good overall condition. A highly collectible and decorative scientific instrument ideal for libraries, offices, or curated collections.
