Diamond tail shape design with glassed on fin. Hand made by the most revered surfer/board builder in the world, Gerry Lopez. The board is hand signed “Lopez…” indicating the board was one of the few surfboards he personally shaped. Arguably the most highly coveted surfboard in the world is a Gerry Lopez hand shaped Lighting Bolt surfboard. A similar fully restored condition 1970s Gerry Lopez shaped Lightning Bolt was sold at auction for $20,000 +15% auction buyers fee, final sale price of $23,000. A seldom offered opportunity to own a prized treasure of surfing history. In 1972, Gerry Lopez and Jack Shipley started the popular lightning bolt surfboards label in Honolulu, Hawaii.
