About the Item
Antique circa 1886 St. Louis J.N. Scott’s double-barrel 12-gauge hammer shotgun. Diamond-carved walnut wood stock and front grip. Sides of frame decoratively etched and read J.N. Scott. Buttplate molded with a hunting dog holding a game bird and a mark showing an anchor overlapping the letter “ B”.
The shotgun was manufactured by Belgian manufacturer Henri Pieper, of Liège, from the 1880s to the late 1890s. The piece features a laminated steel 30" round barrel with a center rib, walnut stock and front grip, hammer actions, and a double trigger system. The top of the barrel is marked on the rib reading "Laminated Steel" with both sides of the frame marked “J.N. N. Scott St. Louis"
