Six antique deer trophies on wooden plaques Germany ca. 1900s. A set of six antique Black Forest deer trophies on turned wooden plaques with black finish. Some with brand stamp on the back of the plaque featuring the shortcut of the hunters name. Shot in Germany around 1900s. Measures: Height: 6.69" (17 cm) Diameter: 4.33" (11 cm) Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays exactly these are becoming more and more popular as decorative highlights in hunting lodges.
