Rare Very Large Edwardian Sterling Silver-Mounted Threaded Crystal Match Striker

Rare, unusual, very, very large sterling silver-mounted threaded crystal match striker, London, England, year-hallmarked for 1905, Stuart Clifford/S. Clifford and Co. - makers. The sterling silver mount has an engraved armorial (see photos) of a dog and the Latin motto Semper Vigilan (Always Vigilant). Measures 5 1/4 inches high x a little under 6 inches diameter at widest point. Hollow underside. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.
