Wedgwood Jasperware Pale Blue Art Deco Ronson Desk Lighter

About the Item

PRESENTING A LOVELY Wedgwood Jasperware Pale Blue Art Deco Ronson Desk Lighter. Made by Wedgwood in England circa 1920-29, in collaboration with the world famous Ronson company and fully and properly marked/stamped on base. Simply and clearly marked: “Wedgwood, Made in England”. The lighter insert is marked on the base: “Ronson, Trademark, Made in England, Rondelight, Brit. Pat. 621570”, and also marked “Ronson” on the lighter striker lever on top. Shows genuine signs of age and when combined with the Wedgwood mark, not having the trademark symbol of post 1950’s pieces and also, the Patent Number of the “Ronson Rondelight” being an Art Deco Era number and design (many examples online), we are ‘confident’ that this a British Art Deco piece from between 1920 and 1929. Being an Art Deco Era piece makes this much more collectible and desirable! 2.75 inches tall with a diameter of 2.25 inches at the mid section. 3 different Neoclassical white cameo reliefs, on the sides sides. The lighter is made of chrome. In very good original condition with no chips or cracks. The lighter is not currently working, but we would imagine that it would be ‘very’ easy for someone with a modicum of expertise in lighters, to fix very inexpensively. Provenance: From a Fine Mississippi Estate and originally acquired in England in the early 1970’s. Condition: Very good original condition with no chips, cracks or repairs to the base. Lighter needs to be serviced and has some very minor 'pithing' on the top. Dimensions: 2.75 inches tall with a diameter of 2.25 inches
