About the Item
Paravento decorativo a quattro pannelli realizzato in bambù e rattan, databile intorno agli anni 1950. L’elemento distintivo è il disegno ornamentale ottenuto con intrecci e curvature a spirale del rattan, tecnica tipica dell’artigianato tropicale di metà Novecento. Il paravento è composto da quattro pannelli incernierati, ciascuno largo circa 44,5 cm, per una larghezza complessiva di circa 190 cm. L’altezza è di 173 cm. Una volta chiuso, occupa uno spessore di circa 13 cm. Un lato presenta un decoro a volute e motivi a cuore, realizzato in rattan curvato all’interno di una struttura in bambù naturale. L’altro lato è rivestito in tessuto chiaro, liscio, che funziona da superficie schermante.
Condizioni: in buono stato conservativo generale. Si segnalano due cerniere malfunzionanti, di cui una probabilmente da sostituire. Il paravento è comunque stabile e richiudibile. Oggetto decorativo ideale per ambienti dal gusto esotico, naturale o vintage. Perfetto come divisorio, fondale scenico o complemento d’arredo.
