The board is hand signed “Lopez…” indicating the board was one of the few surfboards he personally shaped. A similar fully restored condition 1970s Gerry Lopez shaped Lightning Bolt was sold at auction for $20,000 +15% auction buyers fee, final sale price of $23,000. A seldom offered opportunity to own a prized treasure of surfing history. In 1972, Gerry Lopez and Jack Shipley started the popular lightning bolt surfboards label in Honolulu, Hawaii.
