19th Large Carved Spanish Solid Walnut Coat Rack Stand with Red Velvet Back

About the Item

Large carved Spanish solid walnut coat rack stand has all of the original hardware which is heavy cast iron and has been polished and lacquered for easy maintenance. The top half is profusely carved with intricate urns, arabesques, and baskets of grapes and pomegranates, with bronze details. The top has a deep cornice carved with acanthus leaves and five hangs. The side support columns have ionic capitals on top of fluted columns. The apron has deep gadrooned carvings. The front supports are fluted columns and the base has carved bullnose molding atop a straight plinth base that rests on bun feet.
