Stunning and rare pair of Art Deco Modernist coat racks.
Design by P.E.L. Izeren for De Genneper Molen.
Striking Dutch design from the 1920s.
Solid oak and original oak veneered frames with original walnut and macassar ebony veneered elements.
Each coat rack has seven original solid macassar ebony hooks.
In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
This pair of coat racks is not marked like the other pair that we offer for sale but signed all over.

The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco open bookcase is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
