About the Item

Early 20th century pair of teak wood painting stands. The family we acquired these easels from closed up their gallery about 15 years ago and these easels were gathering dust in the attick. Lucikily through a mutual acquaintance we found out about them, which is why they are now offered here today. We are still negotiating about another pair that they have and hopefully we can acquire those in the near future also. These solid teak wood picture stands with their hand carved motifs are a real joy to look at and they are very practical to use also. Even if there is no picture displayed on them, these fine quality and stylish stands with their organically flowing motifs brings class, warmth and elegance to the space they are in. Because of their excellent condition, we only had to clean and cosmetically touch up them up and they are now again ready to be used and enjoyed by the next custodians. Before shooting the photos we forgot to put back the small metal chains that prevent the back stands from sliding on a slippery surface, but we will put them back again before shipping! The height of the crossbars that hold your paintings can easily be adjusted by turning the metal butterfly nut on the back (image 12) and thanks to the design and warm patina, these stylish antiques will look great in virtually every interior. Living in a home or working in a studio, surrounded by these easels will bring class and beauty into your life and with some of your favourite paintings displayed on them they will never fail to impress.
