Music or Book Stand 19thc American Chippendale Style Mahogany on Tripod Base

About the Item

This unique floor-standing adjustable mahogany stand could accommodate both music or a book. Features include an acanthus leaf motif carved central shaft and knees on a tripod configuration terminating in paw feet, There is a a suede type material insert outlined in the Greek Key pattern on the holder with a brass spring to secure the music. An elaborate adjustable mechanism on the back insures that you can angel or lay flat whatever you are reading. Beautifully crafted and marked on the brass Palmer New York. In good condition. The top surface when flat measures 13 inches x 14 inches.
