Midcentury Austrian Umbrella Stand Patinated Brass Bamboo Josef Frank Style 1950
About the Item
Beautiful midcentury 1950s Austrian umbrella stand, which probably belongs to one of the wonderful designs by Auböck, Hagenauer, Josef Frank for Haus & Garten or Kalmar. It is made of bamboo and patinated brass with lovely small ball screw nuts. The rare umbrella stand which has a conical shape is 39 cm / 15.35 inches tall and has a width of 26 cm / 10.24 inches at the widest point. This authentic piece of midcentury design stays after years in very good original vintage condition. The bamboo is strong with no cracks and the partly patinated brass parts show the typical and characteristic wear consistent with age and use. This piece is functional and highly collectable, simply great design.
