French Matégot Umbrella Stand Ivory White Perforated Metal Iron Brass Biny 1950s
About the Item
Amazing Midcentury umbrella stand, the design attributed to Mathieu Matégot, France, around 1955. It is made of ivory color to off-white enameled and perforated metal combined with beautiful patinated brass elements and details, designed to an umbrella shape with handle. An embossed 9 or 6 is to find under the iron stand, see detailed pictures. Inside it has a beaker which catches the water drops, so it is not only an eye-catcher, it is functional as well. It is made of best materials and is of high quality. The highly collectible umbrella stand which stays in very good vintage condition consistent with age and use is 80 cm / 31.50 inches tall including handle with a width of 28 cm / 11.02 inches. It is a beauty and would perfectly fit in a modern or Midcentury style interior with furniture by Gio Ponti and Fornasetti.
