One of a kind coatrack with inlaid geometrical patterns and unique animal 'sculptures'. With the Arts & Crafts era being one of our favourites, we are always thrilled to find antiques from that era. Especially ones that we have never seen before and that we never expect to see again. We could not be more thrilled to find this unique and pure Dutch Arts and Crafts coat rack and the fact that it is in such amazing condition made us even happier. Finding top quality antiques in this incredibly condition is getting ever harder. This large size but undeep coat rack has an amazing patina, it comes with a set of four perfect brass hooks and several smaller ones as well. They all have the perfect patina and the circular mirror too is the original one and certainly in good enough condtion for you to check your good looks before leaving. However, what makes this remarkable Arts and Crafts work of beauty stand out from anything we ever saw is the combination of geometrical inlays and the unique animal 'sculptures'. Around the turn of the century (so between 1890 and 1910) many Europeans first started to learn about exotic animals in countries far away. The artisan whom created this work of art coat rack must have heard about or seen a first photo of a komodo dragon...

Top quality and mint condition bust sculpture from the early 1900s with maker's name. This incredibly well carved bust of Jesus is impressive both for its quality and its large size. With His head bowed down like in His final hours on the cross this design is obviously perfect for displaying on a tall stand. In this case a tall and ebonized wooden pedestal was used and thanks to the contrasting colors of this bust and its pedestal they are like a match made in heaven. The master sculptor / artist could not have done a better job in hand carving the exhausted yet serene facial expression of Christ. The large size of this bust combined with the rare sandstone material makes this work of religious art look extra ancient. Because of its size this archetype of Christianity can also be seen and worshipped from further away. Unfortunately we cannot read the name of the skilled artisan who signed this unique sculpture. Thanks to its amazing quality, its excellent condition, its deeper meaning and its powerful presence this work of religious art will never fail to impress, no matter where you decide to have it on display. Over the years we have seen and sold a number of unique and top quality antiques made of wrought iron, but this is by far the best we have ever seen. The Arts & Crafts design of this large and incredibly stylish hallway coat rack really is breath taking. Both design wise and in terms of the quality of the workmanship this simply is a work of art. The quality of the 'blacksmithing' is so good that we first did not understand what we were looking at, because it is almost too good. The precision with which the hand forged details are made and the cleanness of the surface and the perfection of the connections, we have never seen anything like this.
