Vintage Beige Celine Fabric with Irish Linen Cushion Pillow

This cushion is a one-of-a-kind and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from an up-cycled, recycled luxury fabric, used with the intentions of promoting a more eco-friendly environment by using already existing materials. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials. Through layers of carefully added backing the delicate fabric has been fortified for longevity and thus preserved. (The original designer/brand has been fully credited below) description: custom made one-of-a-kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from a beautiful vintage Celine fashion scarf in an exquisite neutral pattern. The Celine logo adorns the entire fabric in a repetitive pattern spelling out the letters in intricate capitals within modern yet ornate boxes within the actual weave of the material. There is a subtle sheen on the lettering which catches the light elegantly. With an equally elegant trim of soft creamy white framing the front. The French designer brand was founded in 1945 by Céline Vipiana who remained a designer until as recently as 1997. Beginning as a luxury made-to-measure children's shoe business, it was recognizable by its red elephant logo. In the 1960s the brand moved into fashion, sportswear and leather goods such as loafers, gloves and bags, with the 'Luggage Phantom' being one of the iconic 'it bags' of today. The logo has changed with the times as well; from the success of the 1960s ‘American sulky’ range, an open two-wheeled cart drawn by a horse used especially in harness racing, to the current minimalistic, widely spaced out lettering. Note the stylish ‘Celine’ signature on the edge. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The shade of linen is called ‘raw’ as it is in its natural unbleached color giving it a wonderfully rich tone which fabulously compliments the front. A contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric. Handcrafted in Ireland Color: Beige, taupe, light tan, mauve, off-white, ivory, cream and raw natural color linen.
