Premium Wool Art Rug "a-Rug-a" Open Edition
About the Item
This rug, made from premium New Zealand wool, is an open edition art rug, woven by Odabashian's network of family-owned weavers near Mirzapur, India with the finest New Zealand wool. The design was created by Mexican design studio La Jabonera for the 2011 exhibition "Tapetes, Tejiendo Historias" at the Franz Meyer Museum in Mexico City.
Led by Jorge Moreno and Mara Montañez, Queretaro-based La Jabonera is a creative and design studio dedicated to nourishing and developing abstract and unconventional approaches to solutions. From their studio, they offer design-thinking workshops to companies like Kellogg’s, Johnsons Co as well as Coca-Cola.
Jorge Moreno is currently Director of Industrial design for Whirlpool de Mexico and has been the recipient of numerous awards. He also teaches at the ITESM.
Mara Montañes has been in the Industrial design world for over 20 years and is on the forefront of Mexico’s current design wave.
