Antique Caucasian Gendje Runner, circa 1920

About the Item

A beautiful runner attributed to Gendje, Azerbaijan, south central caucasus that features the signature design of this group: diagonal, contrasting stripes in vibrant vegetable colors, creating a feeling that they simply run out and under the borders into infinity. The intricate detail and totemic symbols combined with the superb drawing provide a stunning balance. Few masterful restorations compilited on this rug,the ends and sides are all original and the runner is in great shape.
