Vintage Moroccan Kilim
Located in Barrington, IL
Beautiful flatwoven rug or a kilim from the mid-1900s. The color scheme and design resemble the Navajo rugs from the Southwest US. A series of triangles in teal green, dark red, bluish-purple, black, and bright orange are arranged in a zigzag pattern down the center of the field. The charcoal border with repeating ivory diamonds. The top of the rug has more earth tones and muted colors whereas the backside has brighter colors as shown in the photo. So it is truly a two-sided carpet!! Because of the kilim flatweave, the rug can be used on either side depending on the design needs and color preference. The last six photos show the color for the backside of the kilim. Dimensions: 4’ 8” x 12’ 4” Date of Manufacture: 3rd Quarter of the 1900s Place of Origin: Morocco Material: Wool pile on a wool foundation Condition: Wear consistent with age and use The Persian Knot, SKU: 1346 Red Moroccan Kilims, Green Moroccan Rugs...
