The contemporary Mexican design is made of cozy wool which is hand-dyed with natural pigments to create the color in the tapestry. Master weaver, Roman Gutierrez, is considered among the most talented weavers Mexico has today. Always employing the ancient Zapotec techniques but with a modern approach. Gutierrez has worked with contemporary artists like Francisco Toledo and has worked in the restoration projects of museums such as the Textile Museum of Oaxaca.
