About the Item

Immaculate 100+ Year Old Lori 4' x 12' This beautiful rust toned runner was handwoven by the Lores, one of the most renowned rug weaving tribes of Persia. The Bakhtiari trace their lineage back to the Lores, and this piece does a great job of illustrating that. This rugs beautiful allover design is very reminiscent of the Bakhtiaris famous four seasons / garden design. Featuring a compartmentalized design, framing in whimsical and simplistic motifs reflecting nature and the seasons. This piece is comprised entirely out of Persian wool that was raised, sheared, spun, dyed, and woven by these nomads some hundred years ago. A piece of this size had to have been specially commissioned for someone of great importance to the tribe. Making this rug rich in heritage, and truly a one of a kind piece. The bold and rusty color pallet chosen for this piece pairs well with its large motifs making it quite eye catching. These tribal designs work for all interior modern, antique, boho etc. Despite its age this rug is in incredible shape and it's original condition prior to it being aqquired by Persian Rug Gallery. The pile is evenly worn and still quite soft! This piece, like the rest of our collection, was hand-picked by Persian Rug expert and Shiraz native, Jason Dadras. Each piece was aqquired through the relationships he forged around the world. Our rugs are ethically sourced and have been legally imported.
