Farahan Sarouk – West Persia This magnificent Farahan features an intricate design with geometric and floral patterns. The predominant colours are dark blue, gold, and orangey beige shades. The centre of the rug showcases an oval medallion adorned with floral and geometric details in gold tones against a dark blue background. The inner border is decorated with floral motifs in a similar palette. The outer border is darker, with complex designs complementing the central design. It is refined, elegant, and stylish. No description will do justice to this work of art in excellent condition. The carpet is clean and ready for use. The Faraghan plain in the Arak and Sultanabad district of Persia, located between Tehran and Hamadan, is a very fertile agricultural centre and the home of Faraghan carpets. Despite their tradition, Faraghan rugs have a variety of floral styles similar to classical Persian rugs because they were produced for the Persian elite. The mixture of Tabriz medallions and the floral and palm tree patterns of Sarouk rugs resulted in designs that are majestic and at the same time simple and unique.
