About the Item

Measuring 4’1” x 5’10,” this hand-knotted Persian Qashqai carpet belongs to Orley Shabahang’s World Market Collection. Created with a traditional Persian weave, the weave produces a soft pile while also providing a durable foundation. The carpet's neutral brown and cream tones, found in the field, are shades of natural, undyed wool. The red, blue, gold, and orange tones originate from organic vegetable dyes. Organic dyes are still preferred by weavers today for their bright and fade-resistant hues. Orley Shabahang takes pride in selecting and curating the finest vintage and antique carpets, ensuring that the preservation of this ancient art form will endure for generations to come.
