Museum Quality, Ancient Persian Qashqai

Absolutely stunning example of an authentic 1800's Persian Qashqai Rug. Rug weaving is believed to originated roughly 4000 years ago by the ancient nomads of Persia, the Qashqais. Their works are incredibly sought after, especially earlier examples such as these. Due to their ancient origins and vastness of their tribes the Qashqai have over 300 rug weaving subtribes, each have their on styling and unique ways they have attributed to rug design over the ages. Creations of the original Qashqai tribe, however, are in a class of their own in terms of quality, originality and collectability. This piece specifically, perfectly exemplifies those attributes.
Comprised entirely of Persian wool that was sheered, dyed, spun and woven by the original Qashqai tribe as they marched their herds across the country. Persian wool is unique to its area and even to the tribe specifically. Some rugs can even be identified by the feel of the pile alone. Ancient nomadic pieces such as this were made as an expression of the creators and a way of representing their heritage and not to be sold for a profit. For that reason works of this generation are of the highest of quality in craftsmanship and materials.
This rug is the complete package in terms of design. Featuring intricate geometric borders and motifs that frame in the uniquely shaped center of this rug. Each element of this design is incredibly detailed. Down to each medallion and flower, no time was spared in order to create this magnificent masterpiece. The color pallet incorporated in this design is spectacular as well. Shades of blues and reds you can only find in beautifully aged pieces such as this, while touches of white, gold and black bring depth to each element and make sure none of the masterful handiwork done in this piece goes unnoticed. There is much to love in this rug and when the right person finds it, it will certainly be appreciated for generations to come.
Despite being over 100 years of age this rug is in incredible condition. very little restorative work has been done to this piece in hopes to preserve its original charm. This is an heirloom piece that has spent most of its time on the wall being admired for generations. It is are hope that it can find a new home where it can be appreciated for generations to come.

- Condition:Repaired: A 2 areas have been sewn, but do not show on the face of the rug. Wear consistent with age and use. Incredible condition for its age very little restoration has been done. What repairs made are well hidden and expertly done.
