About the Item
A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "thick piled") rug from Konya in Central Turkey, made of lamb's wool, featuring a design of colorful checkered nested diamonds. These contemporary looking, small and functional rugs with lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by the nomads and villagersof Central Anatolia until the 1960s. Today they are considered collectible and highly decorative as each one is one-of-a kind and represents a diminishing form of textile and tribal art. Measures: 3.6 x 5.8 ft.
